Overview: What are the language requirements for skilled labour immigration?
In the fight against the shortage of skilled workers and by means of significant innovations in the Skilled Workers Immigration Act, access to the German labour market is made easier for skilled workers with vocational, non-academic training. However, in order to enter Germany to look for a training place or a job as a skilled worker with vocational training, as well as to stay in Germany for qualification measures, a specific level of German language skills must be proven in each case. Which language requirements are obligatory depends on the type of residence title and accordingly on the legal requirements of the Residence Act (AufenthG).
